Last Minute Prep

Today I tried packing and realized that I'm going to fill two 50 lb. bags rather quickly. Between all of the outdoor clothing and gear and the dress clothes for teaching and travel, space is rapidly disappearing.  And to complicate things, I have to fit several large textbooks into my luggage as well.

Who knows where I'm going to fit it all, but somehow it has to be packed and ready in less than 48 hours...

Pre Departure

So I'm trying to create a blog to keep people informed of my adventures in Switzerland and throughout Europe and to keep from sending out annoying, mass e-mails to peeps.

Haven't really worked out all of the kinks in creating/designing the blog yet, but hopefully that will happen within the next few days before I leave (e.g. no, that is not a picture of the matterhorn, but I can't figure out how to post my own background yet, so picked the template that most closely represented an actual photo).

I'm officially leaving September 1 and arrive in Zermatt, Switzerland to meet/greet the students and my coworkers on the 2nd.  Evidently we arrive and hit the ground running, so I'm trying to prepare as much as possible beforehand. That, however, is proving to be much more difficult as I don't have all of the texts from which students will be pulling individual lessons from their host schools, but I'm doing what I can to create flexible outlines into which I can insert individualized assignments.

Hopefully I'll stick with this blog and keep you updated on a regular basis throughout most of the semester.
